PM Modi Flags Off Four New Vande Bharat Express Trains, Expanding India’s High-Speed Rail Network
New Delhi, November 8, 2025: In a significant boost to India’s railway infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate four new Vande Bharat Express trains today. The virtual flag-off ceremony will mark another milestone in the government’s push to modernize the national transporter and enhance passenger experience.
These new semi-high-speed trains, known for their advanced features and quicker travel times, will connect several key religious and commercial hubs, reducing travel time significantly compared to conventional express trains.
Key Highlights of the Launch:
- Modern Amenities: The Vande Bharat trains are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including GPS-based passenger information systems, automatic sliding doors, rotating chairs in executive class, and bio-vacuum toilets.
- Enhanced Connectivity: The new routes are expected to improve connectivity for tourists, students, and business travelers, promoting economic activity in the regions they serve.
- ‘Make in India’ Success: The launch further solidifies the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, as these trains are designed and manufactured indigenously at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.
This expansion is part of the Indian Railways’ ambitious plan to operate 400 Vande Bharat trains across the country in the coming years. Today’s launch brings the total number of operational Vande Bharat services closer to that goal, demonstrating a strong commitment to building a future-ready rail network for a new India.
